Cataract Condition

A cataract is a ‘cloud’ or ‘shadow’ in the lens of the eye that causes blurred vision. A cataract can also cause hazy vision, seeing spots, and brightness or sunlight sensitivity. With cataract things can appear out of focus and colours can look faded.

A cataract can appear due to several reasons. Aging, genetics, lifestyle and medications play a significant role in the appearance of cataract.

Cataract surgery in Cyprus is very effective as long as the patient comes to the ophthalmologist in time. If a patient has cataract in both eyes, we usually recommend having cataract surgery on each eye a few weeks apart, but it always depends on what the patient prefers.

Cataract Surgery in Cyprus

Our eye doctors offer a quick, painfree and relieving cataract surgery in Cyprus using modern equipment and procedures.

The procedure

Cataract surgery in Cyprus only takes a few minutes and is pain-free.

First, your eye will be numbed using anesthetic drops. Once the eye is numbed the doctor will make a very small cut in the eye and through that, they will break up the cataract with a special tool. Then they will suction the pieces of cataract to clean the area. Once the eye is cataract free, they will put the artificial lens through the small hole. The artificial lens will give you a shadow-free sight.
